Archermit's Feixue Pavilion in Luzhou Draws Inspiration from Pear Petals

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

In 2025, Archermit finalized the Feixue Pavilion in Luzhou, China, a tourism facility spanning 672 square meters. The structure's design draws inspiration from five pear petals, each formed by separate concrete slabs with varying heights and cantilevers, creating voids that minimize the building's bulk. During daylight, sunlight streams through these openings, while at night, artificial illumination outlines the petal shapes. Leading the project is architect Pan Youcai, alongside design director Yang Zhe and technical director Chen Renzhen. The design team features Yang Rui, Hu Qinmei, Gou Yuanjun, and Zhao Yaxian. Chengdu Meixia Architectural Design Co., Ltd. provided the construction drawings. The client is Lihua Village Collective Asset Management Co., Ltd., and construction was carried out by Luzhou Xingyang Jianchuan Industrial Co., Ltd. Photography credits go to Arch-Exist.
