Archéologies du futur at Sala Rekalde, Bilbao
'Archéologies du futur,' curated by Peio Aguirre, was showcased at Sala Rekalde in Bilbao from 27 September to 2 December 2007. This exhibition examined the reinterpretation of 1970s items like record covers, magazines, and architectural remnants in modern art. Featured artists included Carol Bove, Mathias Poledna, Dora Garcia, Martin Beck, and Pia Rönicke, who utilized shelves, vitrines, and archives to establish a static, archaeological viewpoint that contrasts historical memory with popular culture. Didier Arnaudet provided a review of the exhibition. Simultaneously, 'Chacun à son goût' at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (17 October 2007 – 3 February 2008) showcased twelve Basque artists, such as Elssie Ansereo and Ibon Aranberri, who questioned public tastes and values.
