Arch Hades Presents 'Return | Ritorno' Exhibition in Venice with Conversation Event
Arch Hades's exhibition 'Return | Ritorno' opens on 7 May 2026 at the Scoletta Battioro e Tiraoro di Venezia in Venice, running through 30 October 2026. Supported by the Erarta Foundation, the show occupies three floors of the deconsecrated church on the Grand Canal during Venice Biennale preview week. It features large-scale site-specific painting, immersive sculpture, installation, and soundscape. The centerpiece is 'Return' (2025), a monumental 22-panel painting spanning thirteen meters with sixty-three life-size figures arranged in a triptych formation on the top floor, drawing inspiration from Gustav Klimt's Faculty Paintings. Other works include 'Sphinx' (2026), a mirrored chrome drawing, and the 'Confessions' series (2025–ongoing), which incorporates text from Hades's childhood journals scaled onto concrete or marble-like surfaces. A breakfast conversation between Arch Hades and ArtReview editor Fi Churchman is scheduled for 8 May 2026 at 9:30 AM at the venue. Hades, initially acclaimed as a best-selling poet, expanded into visual art; her fourth poetry volume 'Arcadia' sold for $525,000 at Christie's New York in 2021, becoming the most expensive poem ever sold. Previous solo exhibitions include 'We Are All Just Passing Through' at 8 Berkeley Square, London (2025) and 'Arch Hades' at Ladbroke Hall, London (2024).
