artist · 2026-04-27

In an interview with Donatella Giordano for Artribune Podcast, artist Arcangelo Sassolino (born 1967 in Montecchio Maggiore) discusses his work in relation to machines, nature, and technology. He talks about his piece Diplomazija Astuta, created for the Malta Pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale, which has been analyzed for sustainability within the program Per un’arte responsabile during a roundtable at the Teatro Piccolo dell’Arsenale in Venice. Diplomazija Astuta is the world's first carbon-neutral certified artwork, aligning with 2030 and 2050 goals of the Paris Agreement on CO2 emissions. Sassolino applied an international voluntary standard to reduce, mitigate, or avoid greenhouse gas emissions through specific interventions during construction and installation. He also discusses works presented in Palermo for the 30th anniversary of the Capaci and Via D'Amelio massacres, in Borgo Valsugana for Arte Sella, and in Vicenza at Atipografia.
