Arcadia's Modern and Contemporary Art Auction in Rome

Arcadia's Modern and Contemporary Art auction will take place at Palazzo Celsi in Rome on December 16, 2025, with a preview exhibition from December 11 to 14. The sale features a curated selection of 20th-century masterpieces and post-war innovations. Highlights include Marino Marini's bronze sculpture 'Piccola Danzatrice' (1944, estimate €80,000), three rare works on paper by Joan Miró from a private collection (1949-1976), two works by Pablo Picasso including an annotated volume with four original drawings and a ceramic 'Bouquet à la Pomme' (1956), Giorgio Griffa's 'Linee Orizzontali' (1975), Alberto Biasi's 'Le Grazie' (1989), Giuseppe Capogrossi's oil on paper, and Sergio Lombardo's 'Mao Tse Tung' (1964). Giovanni Damiani, head of Arcadia's Modern and Contemporary Art department, emphasized the Miró works as a revelatory moment, tracing the artist's evolution from disciplined sign to automatic gesture. The auction is accessible in person and online.
