Aquae: Artistic Exploration of Rome's Green Spaces and Waterways

The Aquae project, curated by Sara Alberani, ANDRECO, and Manuela Contino, and produced by Climate Art Project in collaboration with Wunderbar Cultural Projects, aims to rediscover Rome through its mythology and history, focusing on water and green areas. The initiative includes guided tours and performances on July 22, 25, 29, and September 29, with a first event on July 19. Locations include Villa Sciarra, Parco dell'Aniene, and Parco delle Valli, chosen for their historical and social significance related to water. The project is part of the Estate Romana festival, now in its 41st edition, promoted by Roma Capitale Assessorato alla crescita culturale in collaboration with SIAE, running until September 30. At Villa Sciarra, the water theme connects to ancient Roman festivals like Lucaria, Neptunalia, and Furrinalia. Performances include 'Furrina' on July 25, directed by ANDRECO with actress Ondina Quadri, reflecting on water resources and climate change, and 'Non ti scordar di me' on September 29 by Elena Bellantoni, inspired by the wildflower of remembrance. The project aims to raise awareness about the preservation of Rome's neglected green areas.
