Apollo Architects & Associates wraps Tokyo home in concrete for privacy
Apollo Architects & Associates has completed Eternity, a concrete home in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward designed for security and privacy. The residence features a closed exterior of stacked board-marked concrete volumes with mirrored glass windows, contrasting with an open interior centered around a double-height courtyard and plant-filled terrace. Inside, fully-glazed living spaces surround the courtyard, pulling light into a stone-clad basement games room. The home includes an L-shaped gallery, lounge, wine cellar, double-height living/dining/kitchen area with ribbed walnut ceiling, an open-air terrace, bedrooms overlooking the terrace, and a studio. The basement houses a hospitality space with billiards, virtual golf, kitchen, and karaoke. Principal architect Satoshi Kurosaki founded the studio in Tokyo in 2000.
