AOMOMO Studio and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Design Renmin Canal Memorial Hall in Zhongjiang

The Renmin Canal Water Conservancy Culture Zhongjiang Memorial Hall, designed by AOMOMO Studio and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, has been completed in 2025. Located in Deyang Kaizhou New City, Zhongjiang County, the 2,800 m² museum commemorates the canal's evolution from an ancient Han Dynasty water conservancy project to a modern large-scale irrigation area. The project was led by chief planner Peng Lixiao and organized by Urban Renewal (Beijing) Holdings Group (CBC Architecture Center). Chief designer Zhang Hai'ao oversaw the team including Li Di, Xu Hang, and others. The construction was executed by Deyang Rongbei Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. for main structure and LIFANG Digital Technology Group Co., Ltd. for interior decoration, with Sichuan Hongji Original Architectural Design Co., Ltd. handling structural deepening and Chengdu Feiyu Culture Technology Group Co., Ltd. for interior design. The memorial hall also honors the historical memory of educated youth and local residents who jointly built the canal.
