Antro: New Visual Arts Incubator Launches in Turin with Open Call

Antro, a cultural space founded in 2024 by a group of young Turinese, has evolved into a structured visual arts incubator. In 2025, a curatorial team issued its first open call specifically for visual arts, receiving high participation. The team—Margherita Caselli, Esther Chionetti, Martina Ghignatti, Nill Hashemi, Lucia Lerco—selected artists and developed a series of exhibitions titled "Antri Visivi." The program runs through July 2026, featuring painting, sculpture, audio-video, and performance. Each exhibition lasts three weeks with a different theme exploring the concept of "antro" (cave/den) as coordinate, memory, incubator, body, and gathering, culminating in a two-day performative festival in July. The inaugural exhibition, "Lessicogramma dell’abitare," by Paola Boscaini and Cristina Materassi (Corrispondenze), focuses on encounter, dialogue, and shared narratives around dwelling. Caselli emphasizes Antro's horizontality, offering a space for experimentation outside market logics, welcoming works in progress and unfinished practices.
