Antonio Manuel Returns to São Paulo After 15 Years with 'Corte Circuito' Exhibition

exhibition · 2026-04-19

Antonio Manuel is showcasing his first solo exhibition in São Paulo in almost fifteen years at Galeria Raquel Arnaud, titled 'Corte Circuito'. Running from October 30 to January 24, 2026, the exhibition features 33 new pieces curated by Tiago Mesquita. It includes metal structures sourced from Germany, jute appliqués, and layers of red, yellow, and gray paint, representing themes of rupture and expansion. A notable installation, 'Até que a imagem desapareça', showcases fiberglass elements that evoke water lilies, dissolving societal and political imagery related to violence, hunger, and war. This exhibition delves into concepts of freedom, resistance, and transformation, representing a significant new chapter in Manuel's five-decade artistic journey. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 19:00, and Saturday, 11:00 to 15:00 at Rua Fidalga, 125, Vila Madalena.
