Antonio Latella's Epic 'La Valle dell'Eden' Premieres in Bologna

The theatrical adaptation of John Steinbeck's 'East of Eden,' directed by Antonio Latella, premiered at Bologna's Arena del Sole, thanks to Emilia Romagna Teatro, Teatro Metastasio di Prato, and Stabile dell'Umbria. This extensive seven-hour show, which can be enjoyed in two parts or as a continuous experience, emphasizes the story rather than flashy visuals, ensuring the audience remains engaged. Working with dramaturg Linda Dalisi, Latella uses minimal props—like a table, chairs, stones, and shoes—to bring the biblical story of Cain and Abel to life in California's Salinas Valley. The impressive cast includes Michele Di Mauro, Christian La Rosa, and others. Performances are scheduled at Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia from November 27 to December 1, 2019, and at Teatro Argentina in Rome from May 5 to May 15, 2020.
