Antonio Fiorentino's underwater sculptures on view in Milan

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Italian artist Antonio Fiorentino (born 1987 in Barletta) presents his Opus Mari series at Spada & Partners studio in Milan, as part of the exhibition "Ed è subito sera" opened in October 2024. The works are created through a symbiotic collaboration with nature: clay sculptures are transformed by seawater, giving them an eroded, relic-like appearance. Cyanotype paintings on canvas react to sunlight, producing abstract images with shifting blue and yellow hues. The exhibition also features seahorse figures made from wood and clay, and assemblages of driftwood, ropes, and organic materials collected during the artist's travels. Fiorentino describes himself as a "demiurge" working alongside physical and chemical processes. The show is hosted in the offices of accounting firm Spada & Partners, which regularly organizes art events in its workspace.
