Antonello Tolve and Hu Lanbo in Artribune's New Podcast
Artribune has released a new episode of its podcast 'Contemporaneamente' featuring a dialogue between Antonello Tolve and Hu Lanbo. The conversation explores writing, projects, fairy tales, and exhibitions as means to bridge distant cultures. Tolve, a professor of Pedagogy and Didactics of Art at the Academy of Urbino, and Hu Lanbo, a journalist and writer born in Manchuria and raised in Beijing, discuss how art raises questions and writing alleviates nostalgia for those far from home. The episode is available on Spreaker. Tolve holds a Ph.D. from the University of Salerno, serves on the scientific committee of the Fondazione Leonardo Sinisgalli and Umática (University of Málaga), and has directed the Fondazione Filiberto e Bianca Menna since 2018. He also curates the NOW section for MMMAC and is a member of the Archivio Lamberto Pignotti. Hu Lanbo studied French literature at the Sorbonne, moved to Rome in 1989, founded the bilingual magazine 'Cina in Italia' in 2001 (later the Italian edition of China Newsweek), and in 2014 received the title of Cavaliere Stella d'Italia from President Giorgio Napolitano for cultural exchange between Italy and China. In 2018, she founded the publishing house 'Cina in Italia Editore' with two series: 'Baco da Seta' (bilingual Chinese-Italian books on Chinese culture) and 'INCINQUE' (illustrated books on Chinese characters for children). She also inaugurated the Roma9 event space in Rome for cultural activities dedicated to China.
