Antonello Ghezzi Installs Luminous Staircase in Revine Lake

The Italian duo Antonello Ghezzi, composed of Nadia Antonello (born 1985 in Cittadella) and Paolo Ghezzi (born 1980 in Bologna), will install a new work titled "Scalare il sogno" (Climbing the Dream) in Lake Revine, Italy. The installation consists of a seven-meter-high luminous ladder emerging from the water, slightly inclined, designed to evoke dreams and fairy tales. It will be presented during the event "Cortili Frattali. Il borgo aumentato sul lago" from August 4 to 6, 2023, in Fratta di Tarzo, part of the broader "Cortili dell'arte 3.0" festival. The artists, based in Bologna, are known for previous public interventions such as "La porta del sorriso," "La sedia del giudice," "Via libera per volare," and "Il suono delle stelle cadenti." In an interview, they discuss their philosophy of art as a means to add possibilities, open perspectives, and save the world. They reject market trends and seek to create free art, drawing inspiration from philosophy, music, cinema, and literature. The duo also reflects on the concept of monuments, proposing that contemporary monuments should celebrate ideas rather than powerful individuals. The installation will be accompanied by workshops where participants can imagine the future placement of the work outside the water. The artists hope the project leaves memories, emotions, and a renewed awareness that change is possible and lightness is an achievement.
