Anton Vidokle appointed chief curator of 14th Shanghai Biennale

Anton Vidokle has been appointed as the chief curator for the 14th Shanghai Biennale, scheduled to take place from November 9, 2023, to March 31, 2024, at the Power Station of Art. A Moscow native born in 1965 and currently residing in New York, Vidokle is the founder of e-flux and the Institute of the Cosmos. His artistic endeavors, shaped by cosmism, have prompted him to investigate cosmist influences in regions such as Siberia and Kazakhstan. His works have been showcased in Documenta 12, the 50th and 56th Venice Biennale, and the Yokohama Triennale 2020. The upcoming biennale will delve into the connection between terrestrial life and the cosmos, drawing inspiration from China's philosophical traditions and Shanghai's diverse history.
