Antoine Gallimard Opens Art Gallery in Paris
On November 13, Galerie Gallimard opens in Paris at 30-32 rue de l'Université, a 60-square-meter space initiated by Antoine Gallimard, president of Éditions Gallimard. The gallery will host six exhibitions per year focusing on the intersection of visual arts, music, and literature. Its inaugural show is dedicated to Patti Smith, exploring links between her music and the literary works of Arthur Rimbaud, Jean Genet, and Albert Camus. The space will also sell graphic works by authors from the Gallimard catalog. Éditions Gallimard, founded in 1911 by Gaston Gallimard, now operates as Groupe Madrigall (including Flammarion and Casterman) with over 17,000 titles and revenue exceeding €400 million.
