Anthropic Targets $900B Valuation in Final Private Round Before IPO

Anthropic is seeking a valuation of approximately $900 billion in its latest funding round, which is expected to close within two weeks. The AI company has asked investors to submit allocations within 48 hours. The round is estimated to be roughly $50 billion, but final valuation may exceed $900 billion due to high demand. Some early backers from 2024 or earlier are skipping this round, waiting instead to cash out during Anthropic's anticipated IPO later this year. The company's annual revenue run rate has surpassed $30 billion, with sources indicating it is closer to $40 billion. Anthropic's last round in February valued it at $380 billion. At $900 billion, it would surpass OpenAI, which closed a $122 billion round at an $852 billion valuation earlier this year. Anthropic declined to comment.
