Anouk Chambaz's 'Sometimes I Get Goosebumps' Explores Proximity and Friction at Fondazione Recontemporary

exhibition · 2026-04-19

The Fondazione Recontemporary in Turin presents 'Sometimes I Get Goosebumps', a solo exhibition by Swiss artist Anouk Chambaz (born 1993 in Renens). Curated by Ghëddo as part of the fourth edition of the TO.BE program titled INTRACORE, the show brings together three video works: 'Vegetation Walk' (2016), 'Marica' (2022), and 'Di notte' (2025). The exhibition examines the space of contact between nature and artifice, centering on proximity and friction. In 'Vegetation Walk', two figures in protective suits interact in a landscape, observed by a drone that cannot participate. 'Marica' uses a macro wide-angle lens to tell a biographical story of a former beekeeper whose hives were destroyed by parasitic butterflies, transforming drama into affection. 'Di notte' is an intimate video set in a driverless car, exploring childhood memories of the Balkan war through lullabies. The exhibition is supported by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione Venesio, with patronage from Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino and Città di Torino.
