Anonymous NFT Collector D01 on Building the TuringFund

The anonymous collector D01, founder of the NFT art fund TuringFund, discusses his approach to collecting digital art and the evolution of the NFT market. D01, who prefers to remain pseudo-anonymous like Bitcoin, started collecting before the NFT boom and has been active in the crypto space since 2017-18 through the Italian Crypto Club, which now has over 10,000 users. His TuringFund recently expanded with acquisitions including Damien Hirst's The Currency and Ryan Koopmans' Everlasting – 'Remedy'. D01 primarily collects on SuperRare and Nifty Gateway but also uses Foundation, Makerplaces, KO, Async, Portion, and OpenSea. He collects both for emotional connection and investment, citing Oscar Wilde's quote about bankers and artists. Among his favorite works are The Father by Emanuele Dascanio, Technogenica by Giuseppe Lo Schiavo, The Downward by Fabio Giampietro, and AIR by Matteo Mauro Studio. He hopes to add pieces by Daniel Arsham, Takashi Murakami, and Alejandro Cartagena. D01 sees NFT collecting as part of a new web3 movement and believes traditional and digital art worlds will increasingly merge. He declined to discuss security measures against hacking.
