Anonymous artist Edward Spitz opens temporary gallery in Rome

The anonymous artist Edward Spitz has opened a temporary gallery space in Rome at Via del Babuino 58/A, named Edward Spitz Gallery. The space opens on May 30 with the exhibition "Print is not dead," a homage to print media that runs until July 31. The show features recent collages made from vintage newspapers, advertisements, comic strips, and magazines, sealed in resin on rigid supports. Spitz, who remains anonymous as an expression of authenticity, draws from pop culture and has previously exhibited at Sconci Gallery in Dubai, Teos Gallery in Monte Carlo, and Corridor Gallery in Tel Aviv, as well as in Milan and seasonal galleries in Sardinia (Porto Cervo and Poltu Quatu). The artist describes Rome as his city where everything began, and he aims to bring pop and contemporary irreverence to the classical city. Future plans include the official opening of a new gallery in Porto Cervo, with an exclusive event in August, followed by events in Milan in September. The brand is also targeting the American market, with negotiations to participate in Art Miami.
