Annie Leibovitz's Women Project Comes to Milan

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Annie Leibovitz's traveling exhibition and public debate series 'Women for Women' arrives in Milan at Fabbrica Orobia on September 7, 2016, from 18:30 to 20:30. The event features Leibovitz alongside feminist icon Gloria Steinem, and includes a roundtable with Sandra Mori (General Counsel Europe, Coca-Cola and President of Valore D), Paola Bonomo (Independent Board Member), activist Amy Richards, and journalist Monica D'Ascenzo (head of Alley Oop). The backdrop consists of Leibovitz's latest portraits commissioned by UBS under the title 'Women: New Portraits,' depicting successful women across fields such as management, writing, philanthropy, art, and music. The exhibition opens to the public from September 9 to October 2, including works from the first edition and previously unseen shots. Leibovitz stated, 'When I proposed to UBS to continue the Women project, there was no hesitation.' Fabio Innocenzi, Country Head of UBS Group in Italy, said, 'Collaborating with Annie on a project that celebrates incredible women is a very stimulating opportunity.' The tour follows stops in San Francisco (March 2016), Singapore, Hong Kong, and Mexico City, spanning ten cities worldwide. Free family workshops are scheduled for weekends September 10-11 and 24-25, with advance booking via ubs.com/annieleibovitz-learning.
