Annette Wehrhahn's LIVE/WORK Exhibition at Soloway Gallery Explores Domestic and Studio Boundaries
From January 18 to February 22, 2015, Soloway Gallery, located at 348 South 4th Street in Brooklyn, showcased Annette Wehrhahn's exhibition titled "LIVE/WORK." This display featured innovative paintings and installations that examined the indistinct boundaries between living and working environments. Among the highlighted pieces were Hide (2015), a painted shirt, and Portable Cave Paintings, which utilized unstretched canvas and natural pigments, with Wehrhahn's body traced in oil stick. Canvases were either hung vertically or suspended from hooks, hinting at a transient essence. Additional works included Shape with Holes (2015) and Table (2014). The exhibition also extended into Wehrhahn's personal space with Candles (2014) positioned above her bed, representing a shift from her earlier silkscreen prints.
