Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro Celebrate 10 Years of (a+b) Studio

The architecture and design studio (a+b), founded by Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro, marks its tenth anniversary. Specializing in space design, the duo has collaborated with major space agencies and applied their expertise to terrestrial challenges, including pandemic-era spaces and hypersensitive individuals. Their portfolio ranges from the Mate object for Living Divani to the Leonardo trains for ATM Milan, produced by Hitachi Rail in 2015 for Expo. They also created the acoustic object Pinna for Caimi Brevetti, selected by ADI Design Index. Notably, they developed the first university course for space designers, Space4InspirAction, supported by ESA at Politecnico di Milano. Dominoni's background includes a PhD in Space Design and publications like 'Industrial Design for Space' (2001) and 'Design of Supporting Systems for Life in Outer Space' (2021, Springer Nature). Quaquaro studied naval architecture and worked with artists such as Getulio Alviani and Arnaldo Pomodoro. Their recent project for Thales Alenia Space involved designing an entertainment module for astronauts. They are now exploring design solutions for hypersensitive people, leveraging their space experience.
