Anna Cazenave Cambet's 'Love Me Tender' Premieres in Cannes, Explores Motherhood and Desire
Anna Cazenave Cambet's second feature film 'Love Me Tender' will be released in theaters on May 22. Based on Constance Debré's autobiographical novel, the film stars Vicky Krieps as Clémence, a woman who loses custody of her son after coming out as bisexual. The movie premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section, where it was nominated for the Queer Palm and Best Film. It won the Special Jury Prize at Rio de Janeiro and the CIMA Award at Gijón. It will screen at the BCN Film Fest on April 22. The film explores tensions between motherhood, sexual identity, and personal freedom. Krieps' performance earned nominations for the EFA and Lumière Awards. Cambet, a La Fémis graduate mentored by Claire Denis, previously won the Queer Palm for her short 'Gabber Lover' (2016).
