Ann Agee's Ceramic Hand Warmers Featured at Frieze New York

At the P.P.O.W booth (E3) during Frieze New York on Randall's Island, Ann Agee showcases her ceramic Hand Warmers. Created in 2018 from pigmented earthenware and enamel glaze, these small, shoe-like pieces are unique, even though some feature the stenciled "AGEE MFG" logo indicating they could be part of a series. Each hand-sized item is priced around $1,500, with designs ranging from literal penny loafers to geometric abstractions that serve as sculptures. Displayed on a low white table in a vibrant arrangement reminiscent of a high-end boutique, the work fits perfectly with Frieze's Riviera vibe, where attendees flaunt summer attire beneath bright white tents. The exhibition runs until Sunday.
