Anita Pallenberg Documentary 'Catching Fire' Premiered at Rome Film Fest

A documentary titled 'Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg' explores the life of Anita Pallenberg, the Italian-born model, actress, and muse who captivated the Rolling Stones and artist Mario Schifano. Directed by Alexis Bloom and Svetlana Zill, the film uses diaries, documents, and letters recovered by her son Marlon Richards. It premiered at the Festa del Cinema di Roma, her birthplace. Pallenberg was born in Rome on April 6, 1942, to Arnoldo Pallenberg and Paula Wiederhold. She frequented the Caffè Rosati intellectual circle including Pasolini, Moravia, and Fellini, where she met Schifano. Together they moved to New York in 1962 and joined Andy Warhol's Factory. She later became a model and actress, appearing in films like 'Barbarella' and 'Dillinger è morto'. In 1965 she began a relationship with Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, which ended in 1967 due to his violence. She then fled to Morocco with Keith Richards, with whom she had three children: Marlon, Dandelion (Angela), and Tara (who died shortly after birth). The relationship was tumultuous, marked by jealousy and drug use. After a difficult detox, she worked in fashion with Vivienne Westwood and mentored Kate Moss. Pallenberg died on June 13, 2017, in England. The documentary features narration by Scarlett Johansson and memories from Keith Richards. It will be released in theaters on May 3 by Magnolia Pictures.
