Anish Kapoor Returns to Hayward Gallery in 2026 with Monumental New Works
Anish Kapoor will stage a major exhibition at London's Hayward Gallery from 16 June to 18 October 2026, marking his first return to the venue since 1998. Curated by Ralph Rugoff, the show fills the gallery and its outdoor terraces with new installations, including a vast inflated PVC membrane, a dark mountainous threshold, and the suspended 'Mount Moriah at the Gate of the Ghetto' (2022). Works in Vantablack and mirrored steel explore illusion and visual instability. The exhibition also features recent paintings and sculptures in silicone, resin, and pigment that evoke bodily forms and confront violence. It forms part of the Southbank Centre's 75th anniversary programme. Tickets go on sale to members on 12 November 2025 and to the public on 5 January 2026, with half-price entry for under-30s.
