Animated Short Disrupts Rubens, Manet, Poussin, and Vuillard Paintings
Emmanuel Lantam, a young French illustrator and animator, has released an animated short titled "Pipine" that playfully intrudes upon masterpieces from the National Gallery of Art in Washington. The video features a young girl who enters and interacts with paintings such as Rubens' "Head of Medusa," Manet's "The Dead Toreador," and Boucher's "Love Letter." Produced by the studio Remembers, the animation is set to piano music by Arnaud Toulon. Lantam, a former student at the École des Métiers du Cinéma d'Animation in Angoulême, created the work using digitized images from the museum's collection.
