Animated film 'Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles' gets trailer
Salvador Simó directs the animated film 'Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles', based on the true story of Luis Buñuel's 1933 documentary 'Las Hurdes: Tierra Sin Pan'. After being banned from the French film industry following the scandal of 'L'Age d'Or' (1930), co-directed with Salvador Dalí, Buñuel documented life in one of Spain's poorest regions, Las Hurdes. The project was financially supported by his sculptor friend Ramón Acín, who had won the lottery. Simó researched Buñuel's life by speaking with his son and acquaintances, emphasizing Buñuel's honesty and fearlessness in his work. The film's trailer has been released.
