Anila Quayyum Agha Midcareer Retrospective at Frist Art Museum
'Anila Quayyum Agha: Interwoven,' a midcareer retrospective showcasing twenty years of the Pakistani American artist's creations, will be presented at the Frist Art Museum in Nashville. This exhibition, organized by The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, is scheduled from May 22 to August 30, 2026, in the Gordon Contemporary Artists Project Gallery, serving as the last venue in a four-stop tour. Born in Lahore in 1965, Agha relocated to the United States in 1999 and currently resides in Indianapolis. Her work, which includes installations, drawings, and sculptures, explores issues such as discrimination, invisibility, oppression, and environmental harm, shaped by her identity as a woman and an immigrant.
