Anglomania Festival Brings Contemporary British Art to Thiene's Villa Fabris
Anglomania, a non-profit festival dedicated to contemporary British art, will take place from September 16 to 21 at Villa Fabris in Thiene, Italy. Organized by Dadaprojects, an Italian-British association founded in the UK in 2010 to support artists outside conventional art scenes, the festival aims to promote cultural integration through exhibitions, workshops, and public meetings. Four artists will be featured: Sarah Shaw, Chris Kettle, Paul Ostrer, and Jim Sanders. Each room of Villa Fabris, an 18th-century villa housing the European Centre for Heritage Crafts, will host a solo show. Shaw's manipulated painting style has earned her international recognition and inclusion in private collections, including those of the Rolling Stones and Ronnie Wood. Kettle's work is influenced by still life. Ostrer, a former advertising photographer, will debut a new painting style moving away from photorealism. Sanders, from Brighton, presents visceral art mixing tribal expressions, religious references, and cultural weaving. Stefania Dal Ferro, founder and director of Dadaprojects, stated that the festival aims to use art as a universal tool to transcend politics and maintain dialogue between different cultures, especially in the post-Brexit context.
