Angelo Sicurella's New Album 'Ancora Più Buio' Blends Experimental Music with Adalberto Abbate's Art

publication · 2026-04-26

Angelo Sicurella, a musician from Palermo, has unveiled his latest album 'Ancora Più Buio' through Limone Lunare Records, marking a two-year gap since 'Cigni' (2023). This new work comprises nine tracks that fuse singer-songwriter elements with experimental electronics, synth pop, industrial influences, and techno. Sicurella articulates that the album embodies a vision of a deteriorating world, featuring contrasting choruses—one of destruction and another of love. Collaborations include Giorgio Canali on 'Tieniti Forte' and Andy on the title track. Accompanying visuals by Sicilian artist Adalberto Abbate draw inspiration from his series 'The Triumph of Death.' The themes explored include fear, despair, and social alienation, with lyrics alluding to political issues and migrant fatalities. The album's inception dates back to 2019, following Sicurella's hiatus from performing. Article by Helga Marsala.
