Angelo Bellobono's 'Continuità di confine' at L'ARATRO in Campobasso

L'ARATRO, the exhibition space of the University of Molise in Campobasso, is hosting a solo show by Angelo Bellobono (born in Nettuno, 1964) titled 'Continuità di confine,' curated by Lorenzo Canova and Piernicola Maria Di Iorio. Bellobono, who also works as a ski instructor, presents recent paintings dedicated to the Apennines and his passion for mountains. Sky, snow, and earth merge in rarefied compositions where forms are barely suggested, focusing on the quiet and suspended atmosphere of high-altitude landscapes. The coherent cycle of paintings juxtaposes panoramas from different territorial realities, capturing their common essence while concealing social and anthropological messages. The rediscovery and sharing of border spaces are linked to perceiving peaks not as obstacles or divisions but as places to live, seeking new challenges and sensations. This project aligns with Bellobono's other civil engagement efforts, such as in earthquake-stricken Apennine areas or with Native Americans, where art merges with civic commitment to build conscious and responsible communities.
