Angelica Sule appointed director of Film and Video Umbrella
Angelica Sule has just been named the new director of Film and Video Umbrella (FVU), a London organization focused on commissioning and curating moving image art. Before this, she was the programme director at Sheffield’s Site Gallery, where she worked on innovative digital projects with artists like Appau Jnr Boakye-Yiadom, Sonya Dyer, Lara Favaretto, and Sin Wai Kin. Sule, who became a Clore Fellow in 2021, also had a role at Nottingham Contemporary after finishing the Young Curators Residency Programme at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in 2015. She shared her enthusiasm for joining FVU at such a crucial moment, while former director Steven Bode will remain as a part-time associate director until late 2024, as the organization transitions under Arts Council England’s NPO transfer scheme.
