Angelica Savinio, the founder of the renowned Roman gallery Il Segno, passed away on March 18 at the age of 92. The news was shared on Facebook by Galleria Francesca Antonini Arte Contemporanea, which took over Il Segno in 2014, led by Savinio's daughter, Francesca Antonini. Born to painter Alberto Savinio and actress Maria Morino, she was immersed in a rich cultural environment, with her uncle being Giorgio de Chirico. Located on Via Capo le Case near Piazza di Spagna, Il Segno became a vibrant cultural hub, showcasing innovative international artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. In celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2014, the gallery was renamed, commemorating 500 artists who had exhibited there over the years.
