Andy Warhol Foundation launches eBay charity sale of over 400 works

The Andy Warhol Foundation has placed approximately 400 works and objects on eBay For Charity in an initiative called Philantropy Factory, timed to the artist's 96th birthday. Prices range from $250 to $20,000, with the total package valued at $1.5 million. Proceeds will benefit over 70 US nonprofit art organizations, including the Baltimore Museum of Art and MoMA PS1. The sale runs until August 20. Separately, a digital portrait of Debbie Harry created by Warhol in 1985 using a Commodore Amiga 1000 computer was recently discovered in Delaware and auctioned for $26 million. The foundation has previously raised over $4 million through periodic eBay sales since 2020, donating nearly $300 million and over 55,000 artworks to institutions worldwide.
