Andy Warhol exhibition opens at Wolverhampton Art Gallery
This summer, Wolverhampton Art Gallery hosts the exhibition Andy Warhol: Art Star, a collaboration between ARTIST ROOMS, Tate, and the National Galleries of Scotland. The display showcases a range of Warhol's works, including early 1950s drawings, paintings, screenprints, posters, and photographs, emphasizing his partnerships with friends, artists, filmmakers, and celebrities. Featured are iconic representations of American consumer culture, such as portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, The Beatles, and Campbell's Soup cans. Warhol (1928-1987), a pivotal figure in the Pop Art movement, transformed the art landscape during a time marked by significant social, political, and technological shifts.
