Andro Eradze's 'Bones of Tomorrow' opens at Palazzo Strozzi and IED Florence

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Project Space of Palazzo Strozzi in Florence presents 'Bones of Tomorrow', the first institutional solo exhibition in Italy of Georgian artist Andro Eradze (b. 1993, Tbilisi). Curated by Arturo Galansino and Daria Filardo with support from the Master in Curatorial Practice 2024-2025 class at IED Florence, the show spans two venues: the Project Space and the former Teatro dell'Oriuolo. At the Project Space, Eradze's video 'Flowering and Fading' (2024) depicts a domestic space where human presence is overshadowed by invisible forces, blending supernatural interference with plant and animal bodies. A metal structure resembling a grille embraces the screen, impaling a photograph from the series 'Sunmap' (2025) showing decomposing fruits and vegetables overtaken by colorful molds. The work 'Ghost Carriers' (2025) introduces fire as a symbol of rebirth. At IED Florence, nine additional photographs from 'Sunmap' are displayed within a large iron ceiling structure with sharp lances, creating a threatening atmosphere. The exhibition title 'Bones of Tomorrow' evokes absence animated by living traces and memories, translating 'the presence of what is not yet visible'. Eradze's suspended worlds explore liminality and non-human alterity, resonating with posthumanist research. The exhibition runs through an unspecified date in 2025.
