Andrée Philippot-Mathieu's 'Ici comme ailleurs' at Galerie Jean Collet and Maison des projets

The exhibition 'Ici comme ailleurs' by Andrée Philippot-Mathieu was shown at Galerie municipale Jean Collet from September 9 to October 16, 2011, and at Maison des projets in Vitry-sur-Seine from September 17 to November 30, 2011. The show pairs with an eponymous video by the artist. It features photographs capturing everyday life in China, Morocco, and Paris, marked by detachment and mastery of distance. Philippot-Mathieu describes her work as situated at intersections of different fields, built on blurring techniques. The works are presented in light boxes, exploring identity signals both intimate and collective. Digital transformations integrate anecdotal events pictorially, merging subject and environment.
