Andrea Viliani to lead Italy's cultural metaverse platform

Andrea Viliani has been designated as the curator and coordinator for the DHGP – Digital Heritage Gateway Platform, a key project launched by Italy's Ministry of Culture aimed at establishing a museum metaverse dedicated to Italian cultural heritage. This announcement was made by the Direzione Generale Musei. The initiative seeks to create a digital space that encourages innovative and participatory engagement with museum collections, enhancing access and knowledge while linking historical artifacts to modern arts and cultures. This project follows the exhibition 'Le fiabe sono vere… Storia popolare italiana,' which Viliani co-curated with Massimo Osanna, the Director General of Museums, at the MUCIV – Museo delle Civiltà in Rome. Viliani's previous curatorial positions include MAMbo, Fondazione Galleria Civica, MADRE, CRRI, and MUCIV, where he is also the director from 2022 to 2026.
