Andrea Pinheiro to Lead Bienal with New Curatorial Committee for 2025 Edition

On January 2, 2024, banker Andrea Pinheiro will assume the presidency of the Bienal for a two-year period. Among her objectives is the formation of an eight-member committee tasked with selecting the curator for the upcoming 36th edition in 2025, as well as enhancing educational initiatives for teachers. Pinheiro was appointed by the Administrative Council of the Fundação Bienal on December 12. From 2019 to 2023, she held the position of second vice-president, during which time she successfully increased sponsorship from 18 to 48. She emphasizes the importance of financial support to make art accessible and is responsible for the itineraries of the 35th Bienal in 11 Brazilian and 4 international cities, Brazil's involvement in the 60th Venice Biennale, and upgrades to the Wanda Svevo Historical Archive. The Executive Board has welcomed new members Roberto Otero and Solange Sobral.
