Andrea Liberovici and Squadra Omega on Art, Music, and Creativity
Interviews with composer Andrea Liberovici and the collective Squadra Omega are highlighted in Artribune. Born in Turin in 1962, Liberovici is a transdisciplinary composer who studied multiple art forms and co-founded teatrodelsuono with poet Edoardo Sanguineti in 1996. He has worked with many prominent artists and believes that art arises from inquiries of "why" and "for whom," while music interacts with subconscious imagery. His preferred piece is Man Ray's "L'Enigme d'Isidore Ducasse" (1920, original lost; 1972 version at Tate Gallery, London). Meanwhile, Squadra Omega, established in Veneto in 2008, fuses diverse music styles and is set to perform at Triennale Milano on July 21, 2020. They view art as "visionary," citing Flavio Bordin's "Apocalisse" (2003) as their favorite work. The interviews are conducted by Samantha Stella.
