Andrea Grossi's KARA Capsule Collection Launches in London and New York

Italian fashion designer Andrea Grossi, born in Reggio Emilia in 1996, has created a capsule collection for New York brand KARA, titled 'KARA styled by Andrea Grossi'. The collection, consisting of three bags and six wearable accessories, was released on November 27, 2022, in KARA's online store and at pop-ups in New York and Selfridges in London. Grossi, who studied Graphic Design in Reggio Emilia and Fashion Design at Polimoda in Florence (graduating in 2019), is part of the creative team at Diesel while pursuing his own research. His work balances artisanal techniques with new technologies, addressing environmental crisis and fashion's impact on the planet. The KARA collection uses vintage t-shirts and warehouse remnants, manipulated through laser cutting and traditional Japanese Sashiko embroidery, combined with leather, jersey, denim, metal components, and costume jewelry. Bag models include the Midi Crystal Fringe Tote, Cobra Pouch, and Crystal Cobra Camera Bag. Wearables feature negative space and asymmetries, such as a cut-out t-shirt and jacket. KARA founder Sarah Law praised Grossi's ability to transform traditional elements through innovative and sustainable techniques. Grossi has previously dressed celebrities like Lil Nas X and Gemitaiz.
