Andrea Festa Home Gallery Hosts 17 Artists in 'A Place of One's Own'

Andrea Festa Fine Art in Rome presents 'A place of one’s own', a group exhibition curated by Giorgia Basili featuring 17 emerging and mid-career artists. The show explores how landscape, domestic settings, and human appearance are filtered through the artist's interiority, treating these 'places' as extensions of the mind. The exhibition draws on Virginia Woolf's 1929 essay 'A Room of One's Own' and Harold Proshansky's concept of 'place identity'. Featured artists include Boluwatife Oyediran (b. 1997, Ogbomoso) with 'On an African Harmattan Evening II' (2021), Greg Carideo (b. 1986, Minneapolis) who uses inkjet printing on fabric stretched over hand-shaped boards, and Mevlana Lipp (b. 1989, Cologne) with biomorphic sculptures like 'Blue Explorer' (2022). Other artists include Michael Assiff (b. 1983, St. Petersburg), Anne Buckwalter (b. 1987, Lancaster), Michael Cline (b. 1973, Cape Canaveral), JJ Manford (b. 1983, Boston) with 'Interior with Basquiat’s Venus' (2021), and Yoora Lee (b. 1990) with 'Sleepless' (2022). The exhibition runs at Andrea Festa Fine Art in Rome.
