Andrea Festa Fine Art transforms from home gallery to full gallery in Rome

institutional · 2026-04-26

Andrea Festa, founder and director of Andrea Festa Fine Art, announced that his Rome-based home gallery will officially become a full-fledged gallery in November 2024, four years after its launch. The project began in spring 2020 but was delayed by the pandemic, opening its first show on November 2, 2020. Festa, a pharmacist by training, started collecting art in 2008 after buying his first apartment. He educated himself by visiting exhibitions, auctions, and fairs, and followed advice to learn from established gallerists like Peres Project in Berlin and Casey Kaplan in New York. Transitioning from collector to gallerist was a deliberate evolution driven by dissatisfaction with his profession and a desire to play an active role in the art world. Festa focuses on painting and maintains an international outlook, participating in fairs such as Taipei Art (where he sold out works by Silvia Giordani in May 2024) and Art021 in Shanghai in November 2024. He criticizes the Italian art market as conservative and less exciting than Asia and the US, where collectors are more open and decisive. On November 22, 2024, he will open Silvia Giordani's first solo exhibition, marking the gallery's new status. He will also return to Roma Arte in Nuvola for the fourth time with a shared booth with Rolando Anselmi, presenting works by Rf Alvarez, Katia Lifshin, Alexander Skats, and Kazuhito Kawai.
