Andrea Carlo Pedrazzini's imaginary bestiary at Casa Bucci in Pesaro

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Casa Bucci, a former ceramic factory at the foot of the Parco Naturale del Colle San Bartolo in Cattabrighe, Pesaro, now hosts the exhibition 'De Bestiarum Naturis' by Andrea Carlo Pedrazzini, running until October 20, 2024. The space, which already houses the archives of ceramist Franco Bucci and cultural entrepreneur Gianni Sassi (founder of Alfabeta in 1979), has recently opened to shows. Pedrazzini (born 1958 in Milan) began his career as an illustrator during university, working with Sassi on Nuova Intrapresa, Alfabeta, and La Gola. He has drawn for Il Sole 24 Ore, l'Unità, Esquire, Millionaire, La Stampa, Coop, Slow Food, and international newspapers, as well as covers for the European literature magazine SUD and avant-garde music albums. Since 2000, he has been developing 'De Bestiarum Naturis', an artistic-literary work in 999 chapters comprising thousands of drawings, texts, publications, and multimedia productions. The exhibition features hundreds of ink drawings of over 400 nonexistent animals, a limited-edition series of six stoneware plates (150 copies produced by Casa Bucci), and a soundtrack by young Pesaro musician Leonardo Panni aka Marter, composed for the event and diffused through an installation.
