Andrea Brazil's 'Badauê' Exhibition at Casa de Cultura do Parque Explores Vernacular Architecture
From March 28 to June 28, 2026, the Casa de Cultura do Parque in São Paulo will host 'Badauê,' a solo exhibition by Andrea Brazil, curated by Claudio Cretti with accompanying text by Ana Avelar. The exhibition showcases paintings that reinterpret vernacular architecture from Bahia, drawing inspiration from Brazil's childhood experiences in Salvador and Itaparica Island. Avelar describes her artwork as a collective vernacular production, as it transforms urban elements into vibrant lines and colors. Brazil's artistic vision has also been influenced by her travels to Portugal's Algarve, reflecting Bahian traditions. The Gabinete space will feature this exhibition as part of the I Ciclo Expositivo, alongside Felipe Rezende's 'Calendário' and a group show. A performance program featuring Maria Noujaim's 'Lago' will kick off on March 28, 2026. This cycle is supported by Rouanet Law and backed by BV Bank, Laranjinha, and Itaú Bank.
