Andrea Bianconi's Decade of Performance at Casa Testori

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Andrea Bianconi and Matteo Negri, launched in 2009 during the first edition of the Giorni Felici series, return to Casa Testori in Novate Milanese with two exhibitions under the new cycle A Doppio Senso. The first, curated by Luigi Meneghelli, features Bianconi's 'You and Myself', occupying many rooms with his decade-long performance work. The second is curated by Daniele Capra. Bianconi uses his body as expressive language and mark-making, avoiding spectacle. His performances invite viewers to seek what is not visible, blending the 'you' and 'myself' of the title. The exhibition documents his performative journey through large film projections, including 'Trap for the Minds' (2012) where he obsessively dons and removes masks. Other works feature boxes, mirrors, cages, and masks. The show runs from May 22 to July 24, 2016, with an opening on May 21 at 6 pm. It is realized in collaboration with ABC-ARTE, Genoa.
