André Smits and Monika Dahlberg's 'Senza Fine' at SAACI Gallery

André Smits, born in 1960 in Giessen, showcases 'Senza Fine', a dual exhibition at SAACI Gallery in Saviano. The initial section displays a photographic reportage featuring gallerists, artists, curators, and collectors from Naples and nearby areas, all captured from behind in their studios, allowing their surroundings to express their identities. The second segment is a graphic installation: a LinkMap composed of ballpoint pen sketches on paper, later transformed into a mural on the gallery walls, highlighting individuals significant to Smits's journey, such as Christian Leperino, Roxy in the Box, and curator Domenico Esposito. Additionally, Monika Dahlberg presents a collage titled 'unbounded stream of images' that further interprets Smits's work. ArtistInTheWorld.com, now in its tenth year, features over 4,000 global photographs archived at the Netherlands Institute for Art History in The Hague. Following a week of collaboration, the artists reflected on 'degrees of separation', a concept introduced in 1929 by Frigyes Karinthy, suggesting that any two individuals can be linked through a maximum of five intermediaries, a theory now believed to be around three degrees in the social media era.
