andblack design studio's Green Court House in Ahmedabad
andblack design studio has completed the Casa del Patio Verde (House of Green Court) in Ahmedabad, India, a residence designed for a three-generation family. The 9910 ft² project, led by principal architect Ar. Jwalant Mahadevwala, draws on the courtyard typology to organize individual and shared spaces while adapting to the family's evolving needs. The house modulates privacy across generations within a cohesive layout. Key collaborators include structural engineer DiaGrid Consultants, MEP consultants Di Lavoro Estreme, HVAC consultants Yogi Engineers, project manager Rakshit Shah, contractor Mile Stone Construction, and landscaping collaborator Bharat Narola. Products from Hettich and Kohler were used. The project is curated by Miwa Negoro and photographed by Ishita Sitwala of The Fishy Project. Scheduled for completion in 2026, the design responds to Ahmedabad's climatic and cultural context.
